My wife and I decided to enter ministry full-time. Since our first introduction to the church in Urbana (June 2015), we have considered ourselves blessed to be part of a group so caring towards others. Their offer to have us come and work with them is something we are deeply thankful for.
I graduated Ohio Valley University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Biblical Studies and minoring in Ministry. I continued my education through Harding Graduate School of Religion (Memphis, TN) and Lipscomb University (Nashville, TN). I presently hold a Master of Divinity degree.
We are a small group of about 40-50 members of all ages. We advocate New Testament Christianity through the belief that Jesus is the Son of God. He instructed the apostles the truth in the way, and we continue to practice in the tradition of the early church. This would include baptism for the remission of sins, and leading a life of the doctrines and principles taught in the New Testament. Our worship services are held on the first day of the week and are structured with prayer, acapella singing, fellowship and communion, and a voluntary collection for the support of the spread of the Gospel and works of benevolence.
